The Pittsburgh church’s community service outreach has tripled since 2008, with an estimated 70 percent of its members involved. Jeanette Dare, ACS director for the Pennsylvania Conference, recognized the accomplishment and presented Pastor Dennis Austin with the annual Adventist Community Service (ACS) award during a special presentation at Pennsylvania Conference Camp Meeting.
“A church’s website is the new ‘first impression’ that visitors receive,” says Gary Gibbs, Chesapeake’s ministerial director. “Therefore, it is vital that the website be attractive, easy to navigate and have current information.”
By 2030, because of the aging baby boomers and increased life expectancy, about 72.1 million or more than one in five Americans will be aged 65 or above.
